I'm so excited that Stephanie decided to use the site I had suggested as a possibility for an inspiration challenge. My college-age daughter introduced me to the idea of fair trade shopping and we drove to a nearby Ten Thousand Villages store where all the product is produced by artisans from around the world and purchased and sold in ways that are fair and beneficial to those artists. They also sell a little bit of fair trade coffee and chocolate (very yummy!). The web site http://tenthousandvillages.com/ is full of awesome inspiration ideas. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!
I was inspired by this bamboo wallhanging http://www.tenthousandvillages.com/bamboo-wall-hanging to make a card. I stamped my Always Artichoke base with the Canvas bg stamp that I'd partially stamped off. I cut a piece of burlap to layer behind my image panel. This was also stamped lightly with Canvas in River Rock ink on Confetti Cream cs. I used an Always Artichoke marker to omit the bird image and stamped the bamboo several times along the side of my panel. The sentiment is stamped in Cherry Cobbler. I crumpled this, distressed the edges and sponged it. To pick up on the wood in the inspiration piece I added a wood button with a red hemp tie and my inspired card was done!
